Prioritize creativity and maintain high quality

Being successful and creating the best content to meet customer needs requires expertise, taste, and imagination, no matter what tools you use. Generated illustrations can tell new stories in creative ways when generative AI tools are used considerately and with good intentions. Apply your knowledge to approach new content opportunities with AI tools as part of your creative process.

Ensure you have the appropriate rights to submit

You must have all the necessary rights to submit generative AI illustrations to Crystalika for licensing and use as described in our contributor terms. You must review the terms of any generative AI tools that you use to confirm that this is the case before you submit any AI-generated content.

Do: Read the terms and conditions for generative AI tools that you use to ensure that you have the right to license all generative AI content that you submit to Crystalika under the contributor terms. For example, you cannot submit any content if you are not permitted to license it for commercial purposes.

Don’t: Use generative AI tools that are known or recognized as having serious flaws in their design or outputs (for example, tools which generate identifiable people or property from generic prompts).

Don’t: Submit works depicting real places, identifiable property (e.g., famous characters or logos), or notable people (whether photorealistic or - even caricatures), unless you have the adequate property/model release.

Model and property release requirements for generative AI content

Any content created with generative AI tools that depicts, is based on, or is intended to portray an identifiable person requires a model release. For example, if you upload a photo of a real person as a prompt, name a specific individual in the prompt, or include prompt keywords intended to instruct the generative AI tool to draw a real person.

You may submit the same release for content created for the same project or within the same series, which includes works with the same model or similar themes created on or about the same date.

Any content created with generative AI tools that depicts an identifiable landmark, location or property protected by intellectual property rights (this includes copyright for artwork, product designs, trademarks, and branding) requires a property release. Releases are required for each unique property, logo, or brand that is recognizable in your content. Keep in mind that it is ultimately your responsibility to determine when a release is needed. We encourage you to do your research before submitting your content.

Reasons to reject

• Quality Issues: We greatly appreciate your interest and effort in submitting your image for our consideration. Regrettably, the particular image you've submitted does not meet our established quality criteria. Common factors that affect an image's technical quality include exposure issues, soft focus, overuse of filters, and visible artifacts or noise. Some AI generators can also create an extra leg or sixth finger and we may reject such images as well. We kindly invite you to explore our technical requirements section here to gain a better understanding of our standards.
• Lack of Commercial Value: While we acknowledge the quality of your image, it unfortunately does not match the preferences and demands of our buyer base at this time. Market trends and buyer demands heavily influence the commercial value of an image. While the aesthetic or artistic value of an image can be subjective, the market demand for specific types of content is a crucial factor in our evaluation.
• Duplicate Content: We appreciate your enthusiasm in submitting your image for our review. However, we have identified a substantial number of similar images within your submissions. To maintain a diverse and unique collection, we advise you to submit only the best image per prompt. We understand choosing the best from a set can be a challenge, but our platform thrives on variety and uniqueness!
• Incorrect Category or Keywords: Thank you for your submission. Regrettably, this particular image can't be accepted due to misclassification or inaccurate keyword usage. We invite you to correct the category and keywords before resubmitting your image here.
• Missing Model or Property Release: We value your effort in contributing to our platform. However, the image you submitted requires a model or property release, which appears to be missing from your submission. If your image features identifiable individuals, proprietary designs, or private properties, we require an appropriately completed release form to ensure legal compliance and respect for individual privacy rights. Please refer to our guide on obtaining and submitting model or property releases. Once you've secured the necessary permissions, you're welcome to resubmit your image.
• Inappropriate Content: We maintain a firm policy against the uploading of nudity, violence, and gory content, striving for a PG-13 environment. Any violation of these rules, such as repeated submissions of forbidden content, may result in your account being suspended. Your cooperation in maintaining the positive atmosphere of our platform is greatly appreciated.
